February  8, 2002, Journal, The torch is now lit in Salt Lake City for the Winter Olympics.  We are now hearing lots about the Mormon Church for all it’s good works. The Mormons do a lot of good and have a lot of good people but their doctrine is false because they do not believe that Jesus Christ is lord, they consider him a prophet equal to their prophets.  I must be honest with myself and all others that may be influenced by reading this journal.  I must be honest before God to say and do the things that I am inspired in my spirit to do or say.  In all this struggle to speak the truth within the modern liberal world of religion that distorts the true Word of God, one must have spiritual eyes to see through all the clouds of confusion. The people have media sickness and are influenced by the power of the press through the television, newspaper, radio and others spinning the truth into their own mold everyday as a way to influence public opinion and a description of good verses evil.  Satan rules the world. The best thing about the Mormon Church is they are forbidding alcohol or tobacco to be used.  They had a struggle going West and they were persecuted reportedly severely for 100 years.  Utah was not a state when they settled there.  I will talk about the Olympics in time from my studies, for now I would like to comment about the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and recognize the creator God in this promised land.  I am proud to be born American for what this country stood for and was founded on, not what it is today with a reversal of freedom under the substitute banner of defeat.  The Olympic Committee sold themselves to Salt Lake City to have the games there.  It may not please them now to recognize the United States in their opening ceremonies, it so happens that public opinion is so strong that they must yield to the demand in light of 911.  It has been their policy not to mention God or the United States of America in the past.  The Mormon Church forbids

Gays.  The Mormon Church also forbids coffee and that is another very good thing.  The more I find out about coffee, how it dehydrates the body, the more I want to stay clear of it and recommend that everyone stay clear of it.  There is even something added to the tea drink at our local restaurant that makes my mouth dry while tea made at home does not.

Joseph Smith saw a vision from God reportedly at age 15 years old and wrote the Book of Mormon supposedly reviving the ancient church.  As he organized and lead all his people from state to state and especially Illinois, he was killed and Brigham Young took over the command of the Mormon march on out to Utah by 1849.  I must say that there are a lot of good people in the Mormon Church and they should be recognized.  They report as being attacked by American soldiers assuming since statehood in 1898.  They do more for needy people than almost any organization on earth in terms of relief.  They are independent in helping others from their own means.  They are very effective in recruiting members.  In spite of their being known as polygamous, they emphasize the value of the family.  They have a better record than non Mormons in staying married, being loyal to spouses and in health overall because they produce most of their own food and fast one day per month, a statue of Young stands at the entrance of Temple Square and he prophesied that someday the kings of the earth would visit here.  It is reported the cost to the U.S. taxpayer is $300 million for the protection or security provided for these games.  The present church leader stated that the church will not proselytize the public for members during this time.  Surely the church will benefit handsomely from this event and overcome jokes about polygamy.

I am not their judge and I sure hope that they are in touch with God truly and genuinely.  I will attest that they are a good people and I am proud to know many of them.  Marriott Hotel founder and owner is very much Mormon but does not restrict their guest to rules.
